The Canton Fair has been held in the Pazhou complex since 2008. Thus living near the Pazhou complex will save you a lot of time on commuting between your hotels and the Fair. But since Pazhou is in the suburb of Guangzhou, you will have to take a long drive to the downtown.
The Pazhou Complex was opened in 2002 and it is located in Pazhou island, the southern part of Guangzhou. It is now one of the venues for the China Export Commodities Fair (or “Canton Fair”). The Pazhou Complex has 16 indoor exhibition halls on the first and the second floors and can be cover up to 10,200 exhibition spaces. It has an indoor exhibition area of 160,000 sqm and an outdoor exhibition area of 22,000sqm.

The Pazhou Complex is accessible by either the Pazhou or XinGangDong metro station, both on line 8. XinGangDong is closer to Area A of the Canton Fair while the Pazhou station is closer to Area B and C. Canton Fair Pazhou Complex

During the Canton Fair, public transportation will be the most available way to get to the Canton Fair Pazhou Complex. The most convenient way is by metro. Most Guangzhou hotels will offer a transfer service for their customers for free. The Canton Fair has officially set up free shuttle buses for overseas customers from Pazhou Complex to the city center.

There are 8 Metro lines in Guangzhou. You can get directly to the Pazhou Complex by Metro Line 8. The fare ranges from 2 to 12 yuan. Most of the signs and announcements in metro stations are in English.

Taxies follow the principles of “marked prices”. The starting fare is 10 yuan (Including the fuel surcharge) for the first 2.3 kilometers, and it is 2.3 or 2.6 yuan every kilometer after that.

2. The demand for taxi in Guangzhou is very high, particularly during peak hours: from 8am to 9am, at lunch and at dinner.
